From childhood Marijke Persijn combines singing, music, playing the piano, theater, reciting and writing plays, stories and poems.
She studies at the Conservatory of Twente in Enschede and the Schumann Academy in Rotterdam.
For many years she workes in productions of “Opera in Ahoy “ and as a soloist she performs with choirs and she gives Lieder recitals …
She sings at international conferences, in churches, at lectures, in workshops and themed weekends.
Dublin and Paris (theater of Versailles), the former Czechoslovakia, Corsica, Latvia, Hawaii and several places in France, she has performed there!
In the operetta ‘Im Weissen Rössl’ of Benatzky she sings the role of Josepha; she performs together with master pianist Hugo VAN NECK (duo “Neck aan Nek”) amongst others in De Doelen in Rotterdam. Together with pianist and composer Peter VISSER and his wife Christine (viool) they form the “Trio Picantolino”.
With guitarists Franz NEUDECKER (“Petit Poucet”) and Kees DULLART (“Intimi“) she performs classical Lieder as well as ballads.
For the “Day of Romantic Music” in Rotterdam she can for years further develop her creativity by organizing and directing the Children’s Stage. Under her responsibility productions like “Bastien and Bastienne” by W.A. Mozart, “Abu Hassan” by C.M. von Weber and the self created and developped “Musical cirkel of life” are performed.
She follows Masterclasses and takes specific additional lessons with Udo RHEINEMANN, Margreet HONIG, Thom BOLLEN, Han Louis MEIJER, Frans FISELIER and Paul FARRINGTON.
During her stay in Brussels, she is invited several times to perform for the European Commission’s employees during lunchtime concerts.
